I usually only need to work 6 months a year, or 2 years from 3 I get paid so much anyway
Can take an extended break this year though with the amount of cash I accumulated shorting indexes in February & March
Funny how almost every FTSE100 & SP500 stock has recovered at least 25-30% of its value since the crash, some have even made new highs!
Can’t say the same about RR. can we? And still selling off in high volume too ;)
Enjoy sitting on your 100 shares for 4 years to break even Warren
The fact you repeatedly refer to WB, without actually saying anything tangible about his strategies, his investments, what he’s invested in now, what he’s recently moved into, away from, you didn’t know what his investment company was called, lol
Sure fire sign of a blowhard who has no clue what he’s talking about
Cringe
I know what you mean. I worked RR for years up until 2009 and seen the nepotism and jobs for the boys first hand.
Hopefully aviation picks up soon and quickly, although I’m hearing 2024-2025 before return to 2019 levels
To be honest the industry was a bit out of whack I thought. I spent years at Airbus couldn’t keep up with demand, record orders, record backlog, couldn’t keep up, but at the same time airlines were struggling and going bust as well as holiday/tour operators. Didn’t see a pandemic coming but the industry was in a bit of a bubble
They’re not too big to fail. No company is
I’d say they’re too important to the industry to fail and their products are too good. Nobody else could absorb the market share if that were to happen, so I doubt their customers, perhaps even the competition wouldn’t want to see them fail
I got a bit of stick because I shorted them. However that’s purely because of power by the hour contracts and little civil/commercial revenue and a large cash burn, I do think it might fall a bit still. But that being said if I’d went long anywhere 500 or less I’d be quite happy holding on for 3-5 years confident it wouldn’t be a loser
I’m short. I think it has a little left to bottom
I want it to do well. If it drops to 180 or below or stays where it is now I’m 99% certain I’ll buy after H2 results
I’m a british engineer I never want any engineering companies to fail
I don’t think it will fail. Truth is there’s not much competition in the industry
I was working at the competition when the 737 max tragedies and subsequent groundings happened. People would say that the competition must be loving it. Truth is they had too big of a backlog in their own deliveries to even consider trying to win market share
It will be the same for RR. Products too good, not enough competition to capitalise, the competition couldn’t keep up their own demand pre covid19
This time next year I’m 99% certain I will be strong buy
