So our in-house broker issued a hold rating before last Wednesday morning - the article is dated 10th March @ 10:58am full well knowing that we would be getting an update from NCM later that evening and from GGP on Thursday morning.

You've got to ask yourself why in God's name would our broker do such a thing - could it be anything to do with the fact that they also happen to be one of the more active MM on the GGP share also?? I wonder if they might just happen to have some large orders around the 22p mark on their books..... Hmmmmm

A really nice clear image from the satellite today - progress on the box-cut is plain to see. I can't really see too much obvious on any step-out drilling yet - it still seems to be concentrating on the ovoid but it could be targeting sections of the Northern & Eastern breccias without any obvious step-outs so I wouldn't read too much into that.

@Nedd - have a look at the latest Half-Yearly report from Newcrest - Page 33 shows the estimated head grades for Cadia up until 2054 - after FY21-23 when the grades are forecast to be 0.8g/t Au & 0.4% Cu then it is forecast to be 0.4g/t Au & 0.3% Cu.

Cadia shows what is possible from a bulk mining underground operation - 0.75g/t would be very much economic when the Havieron BC is established.

@THE_CHAIN, you are absolutely right - the initial MRE was only for a very small selected section of the SE sulphide zone and some of the NW Sulphide and Northern breccia areas. They could only use the areas where they had sufficient drill density to allow them to be included - if you look at the cross-sections from the quarterly report that accompanied the MRE announcement then you can see the areas highlighted in black dotted lines that were included.

NCM are only interested in the top 320m at the moment because that is all they need to justify the initial mine build which they can exploit using an SLC method to get Telfer back up to speed and start generating income from Havieron.

Now that they have completed the indicated infill drilling on that section it will be full steam ahead to generate as big as possible inferred MRE for inclusion in the PFS - that will then allow them to create a block mining scenario to take to their board as they also need to be able to justify the spend required to build the necessary infrastructure.

We should see the "growth phase" really start to take off soon as they continue to look for the edges - exciting months coming up IMO.

Thanks for your input, it's great to have this from experienced miners from Oz and please keep on posting when you see fit. Whether it's 9 months or 12 months makes no difference to my ultimate strategy here - just means numb hands and arms for a little longer.

@GGPT&T - I need to check again but I'm pretty sure they have said the $50M is sufficient to cover the costs up to and including the FS not the PFS.

At this point the decline to the orebody will be complete but not the SLC tunnels required for production to begin. It shouldn't take much more Capex to build this out.

There will obviously be a much bigger Capex required when they start the block cave but that's further down the line.

Hi Les, I bow to your experience and greater knowledge on the tunnelling subject. I know from the mining proposal that they have proposed using a combination of drill & blast and a roadheader machine. I wondered if the roadheader would be used in the less consolidated permian cover and be capable of greater speeds?

"Development of the decline is premised on utilising both Roadheader and Drill and Blast
Methodologies. Shotcrete application will occur following the completion of the excavation and
bogging cycles. Shotcrete will be transported from the surface to the face area underground utilising
agitators and will be applied to the backs through the use of shotcrete rigs. Rock bolt installation will
occur utilising the Jumbo for decline development.
Removal of waste rock from the development headings will be via truck. The trucks will be loaded via
the tail conveyor from the Roadheader during the excavation cycle or loaded out by an underground
LHD into the Haul Truck at the previous stockpile

Rebalance is announced tomorrow and will be implemented by the 19th. If as reported NST get booted out then we should see some nice upward pressure on the SP next week as more shares make their way into sticky hands.

"significantly expand the mineralised footprint" sounds good to me.

Nice update on the Juri JV too - so Parlay, Goliath, Los Diablos & Outamind confirmed to be drilled and field activities to start by the end of March - not long until we start to see them punching holes into other areas of the Paterson.

I've just got in from a late shift at work and have read through the results and a few of the comments here.

The results are outstanding again as usual - the quality and size of the intercepts is no surprise to us or to Newcrest but I believe that Sandeep is as excited as ever about Havieron - have people already forgotten his BMO presentation only the other week.

This report more concentrated on the infill of the SE sulphide zone to allow the MRE to be converted to indicated from inferred - now they will concentrate on the growth program to get another inferred estimate which will be included in the PFS.

Onwards & upwards whilst sitting on those hands - we have 30% of a monster deposit..... Paddy

If you look closely you can see that they look to have completed the first "cut" and you can make out the machine at the front of the second "cut". It looks to be a lot whiter than the original footprint. It seems that they are making very good progress on the earth moving.

I just listened to the Pierre Lasonde interview - thanks for the link. When somebody with his experience who has been through multiple gold cycles speaks then you have to sit up and take notice.

Copper/Gold deposits are "Nirvana" - I wonder who just happens to be sitting on a copper/gold doozy?
