RMR1969.Like you,my broker, not haliax, gave the same reason re the divestment vote.I was dubious, but if Halifax are saying the same,it may well be the case. After all only 60m of 212m votes were cast it woulde seem reasonable with this BOD that the reasoning was, only tell whoever is going to vote with us and get (if memory is correct )99% majority
On the upcoming vote,I was able to vote online, not by hard copy as you have done.I guess that you got the Pink/Blue voting papers. Not to put a damper on this, but did you have to fill in your IVC numer or was the ivc aldready on the forms.I only ask because a previous poster here, received the forms and noticed in red print that the form would be invalid without the number. When he checked with his broker they refused to give it,so he had the forms but could not complete them correctly.Hopefully in your case all is ok.
MonimanI take your point, but I think that this will be NO.The electorate could be be split between Institutions and PI.I stand to be corrected, but the PI have and have had the opportunity to bail at double the offer price for the best part of this week.Again I stand to be corrected, but over just this week my thoughts are there have been more buys than sells.
We have been told all along that the deal should complete on Friday, and It may well complete on Friday, but it hasn't as yet.The delay is due to " a few minor comlications".Have these been sorted,I don't know, how minor are they, again I dont know.We have had a buy this week of 1m shares.0.5% of the company, has somebody totally lost the plot,or is it strategic to vote one way or the other. This time next week,we may all be in a better position know.
Moniman, regarding the truck load of champage, are you saying in your opinion that the majority will vote YES.
Tav.Can you keep FLYBE issues off this board,do you not realize that it is in the process of being renamed The Italian Debt Forum!!!.
Well Mr Tinkler seems to have lost the court case with Stobart. Will he now take retribution/make a move here???
Nice comment by Michael Portillo on TV just now, asked if Grayling was fit for purpose, answer " The most incompetant minister of all time"
Dipole. This gets better all the time.YOU are the owner of the shares,THEY took YOUR money an aquired the shares on YOUR behalf, now THEY hold the certificate, again, on YOUR behalf. They are legally bound to give you the information,if not I would threaten them/Implement Polizei action.
Regarding the election of Mr Kohn, you can still act without any vdouments.Just e mail hoskings with you support of their actions,(info@hoskingpartners.com) they will presumeably forward your support and email address to Barons/Mr Kohn, and he will mail you giving instructions of what to do.The only request is for the number of shares you hold, which I assume you know.
Best of luck.
Skywalker 123.Putting it bluntly, you will accept the majority of those did vote.
Belmont00.believe me you are not alone in that.
Dipole.Your case is baffling me.
1. Can you see your shareholding anywhere,ie on your account, online.
2. Can you see the current value of your holding
3 When you purchased your shares, did you get a share certificate or,are you assuming that this is held by the broker, either hard copy or electronically.
4 Can you see any option to sell your shares
I would say if 1/2/4 answer is yes and 3 is broker holds certificate,a good bollockin is in order.
The IVC number is on the share certificate that they hold and you probably will never hold.
Just DEMAND that they give you that number, then go back to the flybe web site again, quote the number, and hopefully you will be able to vote.
Dipole.A very more learned poster on this sight may be able to confirm/deny this, but I think once you buy a share your details are on some sort of file at the london stock exchange.I'm thinking this because i received the 76 page prospectus last friday, but aparently my broker knew nothing till late Monday,so who held my address details. Now if I am correct,it may well be company by company,or a general file relating to yoursel may be the location of the IVC number.
As I say just a guess, that may be able to be confirmed or denied by a much cleverer poster than I.
The notorious 1 buy at 09.52
Bruce.Ok about commision, but on most occasions you do Pay.?
The post was intended to help a fellow poster get his voting rights.
Do you agree re monthly admin fee,and if so what does/should this cover ?
Bruce. As I said the spread was quoted from this page and as i typed. This page is (as I type again) is now 8.53.It was just a point that my two and your 1 quoted spreads are nothing like 100%
BTW my broker is share.com.No problems, good communication, speedy answer to any queries.Very Happy with them.
bitontheside. As you say,you paid commision/charges when you bought the shares, and if you sold would do again.
I think it safe to say that all on this site who have shares held by brokers, also pay a monthly admin fee.
If this is your case,I would go back to broker and ask them to explain exactly what this fee actually covers.
In my case on the divestment vote, where the broker openly admitted that they had not been advised of the details, and so could not advise me,they also stated that there was a hidden away page on the web sight that I had to tick the relevant box to be advised of meetings/votes etc.Having now done this, and having to check this hidden page (nothing on the sign in page to advise a notification was there),the notification and voting form was there to fill in.
Sheznay.See my post 1206HRS
Nice 1m+ buy in there about 1230.roughly 0.5% of company
jerezpete/young lee.
copy of my email to hosking.
Dear Sirs,
I am writing to applaud your decision to threaten legal action against the directors of Flybe regarding the takeover of the company by Virgin and Stobart.
As a personal investor I too have suffered a significant loss, which I believe was caused by a failing of the directors to update shareholders on its financial position in a timely manner.
By your actions you have given me the determination to not lie down and let them get away with it. All shareholders have been severely let down. I will be sending a complaint to the FCA.
I wish you well in your fight to bring justice against these directors who I believe have acted unfairly and who have not acted correctly in their responsibilities to shareholders.
Yours sincerely,
Feel free to copy/paste and send to info@hoskingpartners.com
exeter.Thank you for asking my opinion on BONH,sut as a small PI,ihave always set a rule never to comment/tip/or push a share.Having said that I have made a menntal note, and It may well be in 6/12 months or so,I won't kick myself,or you may come back to me and say I told you so.Hope you appreciate my thoughts.
Young lee.Jumping in before pianista has replied,IMO compensation would only be relevant to those before 11 january, how do you compensate people who bought after when the facts were known and basically have not really lost that much.I do stand to be corrected though.
