The judges job is to clarify each sides presentations during the hearing and then apply their own consideration. That is followed by them handing down a judgement.

You're being over simplistic. They are trying to apply points of principle to the evidence. If the law was that clear and straightforward to apply, why would we need a Court ofAppeal, let alone a Supreme Court? Its just my opinion from watching, presumably no-one else is, or cares to comment on it.

Starting to feel this case swinging back in favour of the car buyers. Whoever the bloke is who stood up this morning and yesterday afternoon, he's talking to the Judges like he's the teacher; by far the most impressive performance so far. He acts like his job is to educate them in law.
