RE: Hello New Holland Capital15 Feb 2021 18:15
As a long time lurker I only joined up when those posters, now departed, were continuing to post nonsensical posts which just seemed to be aimed at putting the fear into people - The incessant "19p by Friday" type stuff. I have my suspicions about who some of those people were, and who they were working for, but we'll never know.
Having been in and out of CINE a few times over the last 9 months or so it has been a rocky ride. I've made some good money along the way and still feel there is potential for me, albeit with unresolved questions around longer term finance. I'm currently sat on the sidelines having sold out on the spike a few weeks ago. The position I ended up holding was far in excess of what I had originally intended and it felt right to take profit and take a breath.
I've had a look at what AMC are doing in the US, and it's the US that really matters, if Cineworld/Regal were to replicate that then the capacity appears to be at similar levels to the audience figures pre-Covid. That being the case, the business should still work and make money.
For people like our friends at New Holland, it isn't clear where the exits are now. Do they hope for a big blip later, related to the finances? Are they hoping for a heavily discounted rights issue at some point? I don't know. The way the shorters have played this out has been interesting to watch but not something I pretend to understand.
