I'm just looking into it, there was something going on with the London market this afternoon. That large trade at 2.30pm and then we had two big delayed trades of 1,278,132 @ 121.92 & 6,160,130 @ 121.92 as well.
C'mon Nige, you've been here long enough to realise all the game play in the markets, ITV especially. Ask yourself why the volume of shares at lunchtime today is more than the last few trading sessions around this time of the day when the stock is experiencing a down day 'due to adverse market conditions' ??
Someone has obviously got their hoover out and is sucking up all that cheap stock !!!!
Just found this link with regards to registered American holders of ITV, its a filing with the SEC so I guess it has some legitimacy. Note that GS has various interests, quelle surprise !!!
Don't know if anyone tuned in to the investors conference call but if not, go on to the Liberty Global website and tune in to the investors Q1 2021 presentation conference call and fast forward to the hour mark. Its 1 hour and two minutes long, but its the last two minutes you should listen to. My thoughts are ITV ??
I can't copy and paste here due to copyright but its well worth a listen !
All in all a rather good day I say, Q1 figures were great as expected and whilst the tone of the trading statement was 'cautious', since Dame McCall's inception as Chief Exec I have never known her to be upbeat about any of the previous ones anyway (ignore 2020 !).
Nice close and U/T at 127.45 which was in touching distance of this morning's high of the day.
And also that spoof order at 126p was taken out, so that was an added bonus as well.
Another excellent statement from ITV, the market was concentrating on the advertising numbers and +68% in April, forecasts for +85% in May and +85-90% in June will be pretty much what everyone was expecting after the bullish end of 2020 statement.
Expect the market to play their games again today and any tree shake will be more than welcomed by me !!!
Nice trading statement from S4 Capital (Martin Sorrell ex WPP) to help momentum this morning and also from a chart perspective, its all looking good this morning :-
