The sector is gathering pace, here is an extract with regards to the $9bn Amazon & MGM deal :-

'News of Amazon’s talks with MGM began to swirl this weekend. The Information reported Monday that Amazon was in talks about a potential deal for MGM, which could run between $7 billion and $10 billion. Industry sources said MGM reps have been whispering to prospective buyers for month about a price tag of $9 billion while others see it as worth about $5 billion.

In a sign Amazon has upped its focus on entertainment, last week the company announced that it had tapped Jeff Blackburn, a former high-ranking executive who recently exited the ecommerce giant, to return to Amazon in a new role overseeing a consolidated global media and entertainment group.

Looks like a another nice bit of wedge for ITV with regards to the Narrative & Sony deal, here's an extract from the story on another US media website :-

'The Sony-labelled channels will be rebranded, with a new look unveiled on May 25, and all brands will sit under the Narrative Entertainment banner. However, the content offering, which includes everything from “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” to the Care Bears and “Blade Runner 2049,” won’t change, as Sony will continue as a licensing and distribution partner for Narrative'.

After yet another week of 'smoke and mirrors' dealing in ITV shares this is very interesting this morning. The sector is bubbling at just the right time and especially after those dire Disney numbers on Friday :-

ITV made it on the list again last night over there in the US, and just think the 65 day average ADR volume over a week ago was just 4333 !! This website quotes daily average of 75,394 although I suspect the daily average of 88000 odd on a few other websites could be nearer the true figure.

Ok, I just had a look at the LSE website and those larges together with a few smaller ones have been flagged with the marker 'ECHO' and according to the website this means 'off book - on exchange'. So on the basis that we've seen the following trades this afternoon :-

4,868,154 @124.5
6,160,130 @121.92 &
1,278,132 @ 121.92

Totals :- 12,306,416 @ 1.229 av

And as Rock8 has already reported the volume in the ADRs presently stands at 1,236,841 and we know the ADR ratio to ITV is 1:10 so it maybe that the two are linked ?

Its just an assumption but it is also worth mentioning that we have seen so far around 28m shares for the volume count today, that is more than results day on 9th March (24.5m) and the day of the trading statement 5th May (18.3m).

I wonder if we'll see even more action this evening ???
