The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
I agree but i have been trading for 15 years so in those years i've seen a lot of bad things happen with Aim stock so my feet are firmly on the ground, i have 350k at 0.87p, i could buy 3 million but 350k is all i want because i always remain cautious with Aim, if things go to plan that will make me 4 grand a sum i would be very happy with, no need to be greedy, just going to sit this one out, it does look good but i advise you to tread with caution.
Have we cross wires here or have you not read the rns. Astr have 4.7 mil of cash, Evol hold over 50% of the stock and have been in talks with Astr, whats seems to be the fairest option is to offer either a cash payout to those other shareholders or new Evol shares. The cash is worth over 2p a share but 2p a cash option would please none Evol holders like me but Evol would do ok as well as they get a cash injection from their 50% holding which is well over 2 million and inherit Astr other smaller quoted and unquoted investments, to me it seems fair that everybody should come out a winner, all except those greedy mm's bidding 60-70% below the proposed cash return price. Dyor all, as it's aim nothing is certain.
Sorry do not understand what you mean, or is it you mean they have little cash to buy more stock, they have enough cash to mop up another 5 mil or so for say £55-60k though. Dont get me wrong this is Aim so we can nevert take anything for granted but it looks i hope simple enough where those that dont go for a 2p cash deal can get Evol shares when/if Astr gets reveresed into Evol, the carrot for maybe taking the share option is Evol become cash rich and also get the other small investments that Astr have that could blossom into something bigger, or those playing the cash game wait and get a 2p return if all goes to plan, just looked at plus, plenty of small sellers at 1.1p all mopped up by a 500k buy at 1.3p later on, once again as many times as i look i cannot understand selling at almost half the proposed payout. Also a 780k roll over on plus not to mention those large trades on ord at 1.1p which must be cross trades unless a mm fancies the risk reward as well paying 1.1p, i know i would if i had a lot more funds to gamble.
Good excuse to drop the bid :-))
That is 50% profit should the 2p cash be returned, indeed the offer could get cheaper if anybody bails at 1.1p today.
If Evol have control of this issue then Evol can be in the market for more stock, to them it would be free money buying as much as they can at 1.3p or less then getting all the cash when Astr becomes a subsiduary as planned, no lose situation for them, jeez 142k sale at 1.2p.....maybe they missed the news ?
Straight away 100k sale 1.22p, what on earth are people doing, £800 extra on the table soon and still they sell.
Sums it up well because if you sell the market maker is buying around 1.2p and they have all the patience in the world to wait a short while and make 60% on that, dont forget Astr has several investments in some quoted stocks, might be a brucy if they can sell them but that wont be easy but 2p seems to be there on the table, those in the stock simply have to hold, those out of the stock will hope for a dip in the offer but like you i cannot believe people can sell this so low as the odds look more favourable for a good return.
Evol results did that, i dont think anybody bothered to read them, all that was on the thread were a few pump and dumpers and they vanished, Evol stated they intended to do something with the Astr money and considering it was over 2p a share cash the offer of sub 0.9p was too tempting and that is going to pay off now but the mm's wont of course bid anywhere near it so it's a case of waiting, signing forms and waiting for the money to arrive, still slight risks involved so dyor.
Of time now, the mm will make this impossible to trade now, you are either in it for the 2p or you just avoid the stock, the current spread is 1.07-1.35p which is the biggest i've seen in this stock by some way online, they just dont want buyers and they will gladly fleece anybody who refuses to show patience, thats almost 50% lower than the proposed pay out.
famous last words i am looking on in amazement that people are selling at 1.2p :-))
It's all in their hands, nobody will pay 1.5p because to them it's not worth the risk and wait a while to get back 2p or 33%, that is a good rise or return but you can make that everyday for months trading the right stocks, so the bid is kept low to flush out the impatient and there is always impatience, quite simply it's not even worth bothering to watch the intraday Astr price now, just forget about them and collect 2p in say 3 months time !
market makers know there is little patience in the market and despite only bidding susbtantially below the proposed cash offer they can still find sellers like that 74k at 1.23p, guess a extra £500 is not important to them for waiting a short while.
If the mm's bid 1.8p i'd take that and save time but 1.1p is shocking at the moment. Cannot see any way this deal wont go through, who's going to knock back treble their money from last week ?
Bit of a joke that it's 1.1p bid after that Rns but those who are patient should see a return of 2p cash per share within 3-6 months, so it still looks a buying opportunity at 1.2p offer online right now.
2p cash and bidding 1.1p, only in the UK could mm's take the michael, as if Astr shareholders will not approve of this deal which trebles the value of their stock from this morning.
What i thought, Evol held too many hence they could control the issue, buying at 0.85p and now it looks like a 2p cash payout or close to that is on the table, yippee, glad i added more this week.
Looks like double your money is on the table !
