If you don't use leverage then you definitely will not outperform good stock picks. Btl averages 7 to 10 percent on a good year before costs.

Btl portfolio? Have you seen the UK 10 year gilt yields? Unless you've got no mortgage your returns are likely negative in real terms in the near future. Btl mortgages will be charging double digit interest if the oil markets don't calm down soon.

Great read tony. This is my thinking too. Most are worried about the debt here but it's a massive leveraged play on oil that will magnify your returns if this war rages on for another few months!

The hedging has been fine here. It has allowed the company to survive until this point. From now on it's a de-leveraging story. Should be a fruitful year.

You are correct seingred. Gold stocks will swing back eventually but these days I prefer not to catch falling knifes rather ride the wave up. Each to their own
