It was a good presentation + Q&A session. Thought Shaun once he had warmed up came across very well.

ART123……..the higher a placing price the better it is for Company / existing shareholders (less dilution) …..If you don’t understand this simple fundamental then stocks investing is not for you.

Chaebol jumping the gun as usual in pursuit of his ongoing increasingly desperate (with Helios about to become operational) de-ramping agenda……Automatically he/she assumes that the quoted 12% value is an annual interest rate, but this is NOT what is being stated in the RNS.

From the RNS contents the basis appears to be that 12% is the total interest rate applicable for the full period from the the funding date to the maturity date, which for each of the eight portions of the loan amounts to a duration of just over two years. Hence this equates to around 6% interest per annum. This therefore is a significant reduction of nearly 2% per annum from the 8.25% per annum interest rate that Argo had arranged with the same provider NYDIG for a previous smaller loan (27 million) related to Helios infrastructure.

In the recent webinar when PW is walking thru slide 16 (Financing Argo’s Growth) he says at around 23 mins 54 secs the following statement “continued maceration of debt markets”

For those not familiar with the word “maceration” it means softening. In the context of the debt markets if something is softening then the rates being charged are seen to be reducing (see link to definition below). So this backs up that this latest loan has been achieved at a reduced rate.

So in closing, it seems to be a great non dilutive funding deal that is taking advantage of the mentioned softening in the market that’s been arranged by Argo. All the key pieces are timely coming together nicely for Helios this year.

Riot Blockchain just issued their April report few hours ago. They included a wide angle photo of one of their immersion cooling buildings in Texas. Interesting to visually compare it (to the extent possible) with the Argo photo of Helios immersion cooling from the recent webinar. For instance you can observe the single deck (Riot) set-up versus the double deck (Argo) set-up, etc.

Interesting buying action so far today on this pretty illiquid stock, wonder if news coming soon? ……btw, despite showing as a sell the latest 25k trade @ 8.46am (12p) is a buy.

An RNS could land anytime beforehand if the webinar is going to contain any market sensitive new information.

I think there is a good chance of this as we are having the chairman involved tomorrow as well as Shaun (MD) and Greg (FD). Seems noteworthy considering Chairman’s involvement did not happen at their last presentation back in Oct 21.

At the back end of last week after many months of OMI being in the doldrums, I have sensed the start of a new era of positive sentiment coming subsequent to the insightful Zak Mir interview with Brad and the release of the 2021 results outlining the significant potential of their South American assets as the exploration plans now ramp up and for their robust financial balance sheet. The icing on the cake is that this has occurred despite a few weeks of general weakness for gold and commodity prices and their related stocks.

I have witnessed the posting on this bulletin board quickly change from mainly just a few doom and gloom one liners being posted each day to become a vibrant exchange of proper relevant & well researched useful information. There have been some excellent contributions from a combination of OMI old timers and many new posters. However the cherry on the icing on the cake has been the handful of really exceptional posters who have taken their valuable time to share their knowledge here (no names but you know who are…..). Long may it continue….

I would like to close my weekend posting here by saying a big thank you to my fellow posters and I hope we can see the positive momentum for OMI continue in the coming weeks/months.

Don’t you love the way LSE has had the headline share price for EEE at the stated 2p bid value for most of the day to make the stock show up as red, even though the majority of todays trades are buys at close to the stated 2.10p ask price value all showing in blue…..Favour for the MM’s ?

Yes napthman1……..getting into OMI now is in my view quite similar to getting into GGP at the sub 2p price of a couple of years ago (been there got the T shirt like many others) just as Newcrest were getting the early Hav drill results.

I can see many parallels here with the majors involved etc. Not atall knocking GGP as it has plenty of mcap growth left in it, but OMI is at a much earlier stage on the Lassonde curve and the mcap growth rewards are quite likely to be significantly more here. I accept that it comes with some added risk.

My son recently turned 18 and opened a stocks ISA with a few grand to invest. He turned to me for advice on which stocks to go for. I can tell you that advising your own child on stock picking is way more stressful to be making the right choices than when stock picking for your own portfolio even with the far greater size funds at stake.

I am invested in quite a number of explorers ranging from the likes of big plays like GGP through to small caps like EEE, but the only one that I recommended for my son to invest was OMI as I believe the current SP value + risk/reward aspects for the future make this pretty much nailed on to give him an excellent return on his £1000 investment in their stock.

Just let that sink in guys……EH rate in 8 months time will likely have more than quadrupled from todays EH rate. Phenomenal.

Good to hear majority of questions coming from the big boys (institutions / Analysts) rather than from retail. Mirrors the way retail weak hands have been selling cheap and departing in recent months whilst the II’s have been smartly accumulating.

You just heard it……the quoted EH rate is nameplate basis and does NOT include for the immersion cooling efficiency enhancements. So actual EH rate could be circa 7 EH by 2022 year end…….Great news !!

My thinking…..

Placing not entirely unexpected as they now have 5 assets to timely progress, which takes funds. Thought it might have happened sometime subsequent to the webinar presentation next week at a bit higher price…….I guess the BOD didn’t want to be accused of ramping the Company at the webinar to then subsequently announce the placing, so it’s fair play to Shaun and it shows his good integrity. Trust of the management is important.

I liked that Management are taking a decent chunk of the placing shares which shows they are well aligned to existing shareholders.

Also liked that there are no warrants directly linked to the placing shares (just a few broker warrants for the fees payment set at 3p) and so this should limit extent of any selling overhang from placing shares flipping.

Still will have a pretty tight share structure in place at sub 500 million shares and so I will look forward to the webinar and further news as the 2022 exploration season progresses.
