Call options are going to be hugely expensive (who is going to write one?), so are swaps, after all can you foresee a bank writing a call option/swap for a fund whose mandate states they are activist investors ?

The game is well and truly afoot..

Swaps contract would give the most leverage but is expensive to run, would need to check Kelso investing mandate to see what they can and can't do.

Using a Prime broker as middle man can also help in these situations.

Kelso could use leverage, i.e put their existing purchase up as collateral taking out a long swaps contract/option/CFD.

Is it retail reading the press articles deciding to buy Kelso instead of their only investment ?

You could (theoretically) have a situation where both the previous suitors have continued to buy, sitting just below the 5% threshold.

Now that would make things interesting if a TR1 came out for either of those parties, highly speculative of course..

I've always had a sub through NOMAD but first copies are £350 tops I would have thought, if someone else has already requested the register it will be half that.

It give all the beneficial owners even if they use a listing company or nominee service, it all falls under a Section 793 notice which is a powerful tool.

Yes, agree the arb stuff is a bit out of kilter, as you say HK finished just a smidge under 300p ignoring most of the NASDAQ fall.
