Giving up the Golden share is of no consequence given todays vote, its also one less thing for media/critics to focus on - helps with the corporate governance too.

So if we wind back to Matts LinkedIn (post bid) it makes a lot more sense, he knew 65% of the vote were behind him/board having spoken to larger holders, what he/board didn't know was the remainder (35%).

Its astonishing that any CEO could pull together such a vote confidence given current media attention.

This is why the Golden share was never a thing, rock solid support from a loyal shareholder base.
