The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Uber has never made a profit. 37bn of rev bags can't make a profit from selling a software service. I'll take their mcap.
CBA, having a long lunch break.
Waggy, I disagree with your statement that they have made no money to date.
They have not made much, but they have made money, they have had milestone payments, that is someone paying for their knowledge and expertise, it's not selling to consumers but that's never going to be the case. Their income stream will be license agreements with milestone payments and royalties.
Isn't always about the future price, if the future price is equal to today's price and you see no way of that changing then (with the exception of dividends) why would you carry on holding? You might get lucky and the SP rises above what it's worth, but that will undo itself. This is all about the cost of money, is the likelihood of an increase of a certain size on a certain timeframe worth more to me than the cash in hand or the cash in some other potential increase.
My cash where it is I can see a route to it being worth many many times what it is now in a 2-3 year time frame, that's the value calc for me. If it was 10 years I'd make a different decision. If it was worth just 25% more I'd make a different decision. But that's investing, either doing those calcs explicitly or having an implicit assessment.
You've got a logic to your pricing, attack the logic not the person. The only avenues of attack are the multiple and the total sales, both of which have sound logic behind them. That's not ramping, that's understanding what you are looking at.
how do you 'get that impression' they don't even know what one of the targets is.
Apparently say that they have a right of centre slant on the world when it comes to people whose origin is different from theirs.
Terry, he has credibility to lose, you, not so much. TW none whatsoever, Truant and eggy, haven't a brain cell between them. Just ****** stains on society.
Sitlain I thought that they had not been pre-treated with dox specifically, anthracycline naïve?
He is a bully, no doubt about that.
I would argue that any fund that works in this sector has people on the books who know more than the top 1-2% on here, certainly more than me.
Also today and for the next few weeks at least the share price action would like exactly the same whether there are 1000 funds interested and wanting to buy or there is no interest at all. Simply because they will not move that quickly.
Absolutely BV.
And who is? Look at many major execs and there's a cluster F in the wings. Any of BT's for the last decade, any of the banks forever. Any pharma that has allowed the patent cliff to get as close as it is. The pharma that allowed the talc issue. Any of the oil and gas companies for not reading the room, and car manufacturers that went too late into electric. Those are the mainstays of the corporate world, and yet all of them have had execs that failed, or were seemingly successful because of a following wind. Those 'good' execs probably made hay, and got out, didn't actually achieve a lot more than anyone else could have, and the boards that put them there and selected them are just as bad.
My argument is that there are no good high level exec's just ones that get lucky and have good timing. Elon is possibly an exception.
No idea, but orphan drugs are for conditions that are rare enough that there is little development in the treatment space. I suspect that fast tracking is not limited to those conditions.

Been there since about 17:15 on Friday.
They won't give that opinion until later in the trials, if we draw our own conclusions that's our problem, but to come out and say 'this means...' is not possible at this stage in the trial.
IIs are slow to assess, every decision will need a full layer of **** covering as everyone in the chain has to answer to someone above and losses are poorly received. I'd think that some of them might have been on the ball with a conditional approval to invest but most of suggest will be a month away.
To be fair you've said practically everything that might or might not happen around with some bs that can't happen. I think you've not yet said that aliens could land and give us a simple cure.
1.5 days? Wtf are you on about?
