The current LMI price is far off Ben Davis Liberum's 15p target. He seems to be getting negative now on Petra diamonds. Probably a good buy signal. Most analysts are absolutely clueless... Who would want to pay for their recommendations I don't know. No wonder the blindfolded chimp with a pin outperforms the market...

If they are thinking what I am Ta it will be a standalone business... Another bid is a possibility. When the PGM's increase the future potential is huge. It would be a risk worth taking for a large mining house wanting an exposure to PGM's. It wasn't that long ago that Xstata offered $10b for LMI. Its now worth less than £200m and remember how much money was raised since 2008 in rights issues. Lonmin should go it alone...

TLW- I think the answer lies with the hedge funds that are short, manipulating the price. A takeover can happen at any time but don't expect the potential bidder to go about the city shouting their intentions...

I still subscribe to the fact that LMI has an independent future. They have been through worse and survived. Platinum is weak at the moment but my personal belief is that it will at least double in price in the next three years. Fortunately for investors the brokers are clueless and have their heads buried in the sand. They want LMI to fail for the sake of their vanity. Their price forecasts are going to look rather stupid within the next year or two...

I personally don't think its a case of more buyers than sellers for the recent increase. Lmi is cheap and has been because of the SGL takeover. The price has been manipulated and maybe one of the manipulators is out of the game...

Yes Rastuss the Eskom case is rather curious and hard to fathom but this is S.A after all...

I doubt the new directors of PIC will vote in favour of the SGL bid. There is a possibility that they will shake the LMI board up somewhat... It certainly makes things more interesting.

Or Lonmin is extremely weak...

It's worth trying Rastuss - It does however change style from vintage to vintage depending on which variety of grapes they use, one year it may resemble a claret the next a rhone. It's always full bodied and spicy and works well with game and North African dishes...

Probably the best wine to drink is a Chateau Musar, being made close to Beirut is the ideal tipple to discuss the pros and cons of Lonmin...
