Vinci wins $1.14 billion HS2 contract

May 13 (Reuters) - ​Vinci ⁠said its ​Taylor Woodrow unit, in ​a ‌50-50 joint ⁠venture with ⁠Aureos Rail ​Ltd, has won an 856 million pound ($1.16 ​billion) ‌contract from High Speed 2 ​Ltd to build ‌a train maintenance depot and ‌rail network control centre in Birmingham for ​Britain's future HS2 ‌line.

The project is expected to ⁠create ⁠about 1,000 ‌long-term jobs and nearly ​500 construction ​roles.
