US Gulf of Mexico oil and gas auction ends with $46.98 mln in high bids

March 11 (Reuters) - ​A ⁠sale ​of drilling rights ​in ‌the Gulf ⁠of Mexico ended ⁠with $46.98 ​million in high bids from ​oil and ‌gas companies, officials ​with the ‌U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy ‌Management said on Wednesday.

Winning bidders ​included BP, Chevron, ‌Shell and Anadarko. The bids ⁠were ⁠read ‌via livestream on BOEM's ​website. (Reporting ​by ‌Nichola Groom; Editing by Mark Porter)
