US extends BP license for Azeri gas field, BP says

May 7 (Reuters) - ​The ⁠United States ​has extended a license allowing ​BP ‌to continue ⁠to operate its ⁠Shah Deniz natural ​gas field in Azerbaijan with Iranian ​and ‌Russian partners, the company said on Thursday.

"BP ​always seeks to ‌comply with applicable sanctions, laws and ‌regulations. The licenses you referenced have been ​extended. Shah Deniz remains compliant ‌with sanctions," the company said in ⁠an ⁠emailed statement.
