TechMARK movers: Spectris continues rise

Instrumentation and controls supplier Spectris continues to rise after Friday's upgrade of full year guidance. Revenues for the four months ended October 2010 increased by 21% from a year earlier. On a like-for-like basis revenues were 16% higher than the comparable period last year. Assuming current trading levels continue the board thinks that adjusted pre-tax profits for the full year will be a bit above the top end of the range of market forecasts which, at the time of the announcement, was £115.2m.Non-executive director Russell King has bought 3,000 shares at 1182p a share. That is his first purchase of shares since his appointment in October. There was a slide in the share price of e2v Technologies following its interim figures, but the electronic component maker is still more than 80% higher after its refinancing a year ago. Revenues grew 10% to £105.4m, although that includes overdue and last time to buy orders of £10.2m. Operating profit margin quadrupled to 16%. Underlying earnings per share more than doubled to 4.57p a share in the six months to September 2010. The order book has risen to £167m.
