Seeing Machines receives $3.8m purchase order

Tue, 12th May 2026 10:25

(Sharecast News) - Seeing Machines said on Tuesday that it had received a $3.8m purchase order for its Guardian Backup-driver Monitoring System from a leading North American autonomous driving company.

The AIM-traded computer vision technology company said the order built on an existing relationship and reflected the customer's continued expansion of its autonomous vehicle test fleet beyond the United States, pointing to growing international development in autonomous ride-hailing.

Seeing Machines said Guardian BdMS was designed to provide human oversight for autonomous fleets while deployments still require backup drivers.

The system forms part of the company's broader Guardian platform, using its driver and occupant monitoring expertise to support safer autonomous operations.

It said its Future Mobility Group, established in January, was focused on supporting the safe development of autonomous transport, where safety requirements remained high despite increasing adoption of autonomy.

"This follow-on order from an existing customer reinforces the strength of our position as a trusted partner to leading autonomous driving programs," said chief executive officer Paul McGlone.

"As autonomy advances, our technology ensures consistent, reliable human oversight supporting safer deployment today while enabling the industry's transition to full autonomy."

McGlone added that the order reflected increasing momentum in the company's aftermarket business, with Guardian revenue for the quarter-to-date in the fourth quarter of the 2026 financial year now exceeding total revenue delivered in the third quarter.

At 1321 BST, shares in Seeing Machines were up 5.84% at 4.35p.
