Sun, 11th Jul 2010 20:08

DOW JONES NEWSWIRES The following table lists unplanned and planned production outages at U.S. refineries as reported by Dow Jones Newswires. The information is compiled from both official and unofficial refining sources and doesn't purport to be a comprehensive list. Motvia Enterprises LLC's Port, Arthur Texas refinery will begin repairing one of its boilers Sunday to prevent an unplanned shut down of a key gasoline-making unit, according to a filing with environmental regulators. A leaky tube was found in the waste heat boiler located at fluid catalytic cracking unit #3, the company said in a report to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. "In order to prevent an emergency shut down with subsequent emissions, a plan is in place to conduct an orderly shut down {Sunday]," the report said. Work on the unit will begin Monday. Citgo's key gasoline-making unit at the Lemont, Ill. refinery could be shut for seven days for repair after it was damaged in a thunderstorm, the company said last week. The fluid catalytic cracking unit was shut down Tuesday after it experienced an electrical problem due to a severe storm, a Citgo official said.
