Thu, 19th Jun 2014 07:48
AIM-listed mobile marketing group Proxama has secured funding from the UK's innovation agency Technology Strategy to provide mobile loyalty services across the City of Norwich. The group aims to connect consumers to high street retailers and national chains using mobile technology such as near field communication, QR codes and Bluetooth beacons. The firm expects the project to allow shoppers in Norwich to purchase new products as well as sign up for incentives such as coupons, discounts and loyalty services. If successful the company plans for a national or global roll out.Chief Commercial Officer Miles Quitmann said: "This exciting project connects a consumer's smartphone, which on average they view 150 times a day, with the high street, by alerting shoppers with incentives from participating businesses. "Retailers benefit by marketing directly to consumers on mobile, increasing sales and repeat visits to their stores. The project funding will help us prove the value of proximity services on the high street, enabling a broader rollout in the UK and beyond." As of 08:23 the share price had risen 1.64% to 4.6p.WS
