Playtech reports strong start to 2026 on Americas growth

Wed, 20th May 2026 11:29

(Alliance News) - Playtech PLC on Wednesday reported an "excellent start" to 2026, citing strong trading momentum in the Americas and certain European markets in the first four months of the year.

The Douglas, Isle of Man-based gambling software said stronger-than-expected performance in the Americas, first highlighted in its financial 2025 trading update in February and annual results in March, has continued into the new year.

Playtech said trading between January 1 and April 30 was driven by continued strength in the US, Mexico and selected European markets, alongside a solid performance in its Live division.

Chief Executive Officer Mor Weizer said returns from investments made in recent years were "continuing to accelerate and contribute meaningfully to profitability".

Weizer also highlighted the firm's partnership with Caliente Interactive in Mexico, which he said continues to perform strongly ahead of the upcoming football World Cup.

"The combination of Playtech's strong expansion in regulated markets, diversified footprint, highly scalable technology and deep partner relationships, leaves the group well positioned to capture the significant market opportunity ahead," Weizer said.

Shares in the company were up 2.8% at 373.40 pence in London on Wednesday morning.
