Outgoing Hornby manager trades in 400,000 shares

Frank Martin, the former Chief Executive of Hornby, which is best known for its model train sets and Scalextric racing kits, has reduced his stake in the group ahead of his retirement in June. Martin, who since announcing his retirement has occupied the role of Deputy Chairman, traded in 400,000 shares at 82p each, pocketing £328,000. At the end of last month the group warned investors that the retail environment in the UK and Europe has remained challenging, but is nonetheless confident in the group's strategy.The company also announced plans for a re-structuring of the senior team below the board level, saying this will "create a simpler, more streamlined reporting structure that more closely reflects the current shape of the business". The one-off restructuring charge of around £0.5m is expected to be largely offset by cost savings in the year to March 31st 2014.
