Wed, 04th Jul 2018 12:27

LONDON (Alliance News) - Modern Water PLC said Wednesday the "world's first brine treatment plant" will be opened in India using its all membrane brine concentration process.

The plant, opened by British Deputy High Commissioner of Gujarat Geoff Wain, will treat "technically challenging" waste water for Indian chemicals company Bodal Chemicals.

The water treatment company said its process "is a crucial part of an energy-efficient treatment process" The leads to "a highly saline organic-laden effluent stream from dyes manufacturing operations that achieves zero liquid discharge".

Modern Water completed the project with its Indian partner, Advent Envirocare Technology Pvt Ltd.

The plant is being operated by Bodal staff under the supervision of Advent.

Chief Executive Officer Simon Humphrey said: "We are proud that senior management of Bodal, and the British Deputy High Commissioner have opened what is a world-first. Our partnership with Advent in India is going from strength to strength and we are working hard to replicate the same model of partnership with credible local players in other countries in order to fully commercialise our water treatment technology."
