London Stock Exchange renews technology partnership with Broadcom

Tue, 19th May 2026 09:00

(Alliance News) - London Stock Exchange Group PLC on Tuesday said it has renewed its "long-standing" technology partnership with Palo Alto, California-based semiconductor and infrastructure software company Broadcom Inc.

The London-based exchange operator said the renewal is underpinned by a new five-year agreement centred on Broadcom's cloud operating model VMware Cloud Foundation.

The new agreement extends LSEG's use of VMware software, including the use of VMware Cloud Foundation to support LSEG's private cloud platform.

Broadcom will also provide professional services to LSEG to roll out VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0.

"Extending our use of VMware Cloud Foundation supports an engineered private cloud for our operations, while giving us the flexibility to support new services and workloads as our technology needs evolve," said Andrew Knight, chief information officer for Infrastructure and Cloud at LSEG.

"LSEG operates important market infrastructure, where reliability and performance really matter," said Luigi Freguia, president of EMEA Sales at Broadcom.

"This new five-year agreement reflects the group's confidence in VMware Cloud Foundation to support those demands, providing a secure and resilient platform that can evolve as market needs change."

Shares in LSEG were up 1.3% at 9,394.00 pence on Tuesday morning in London. Broadcom shares closed down 1.1% at USD420.71 in New York on Monday.
