Incoming head of PRA says UK could learn from ECB review of bank supervision

Wed, 15th Apr 2026 14:47

April 15 (Reuters) - The incoming head of the UK's prudential regulator for banks ‌and insurers said on Wednesday that Britain could learn from the European Central Bank's review of its approach ‌to bank supervision.

The ECB on Tuesday published material examining the competitiveness of the ‌EU banking system.

"I was interested ‌that the ECB are also talking about the approach to supervision and not ‌just the rules. I think there are things to be learned from ‌that," Braddick told lawmakers at her pre-appointment hearing ‌before parliamentary Treasury Committee.
