UK PM Starmer names former PM Gordon Brown as special envoy on global finance

LONDON, May ​9 (Reuters) - ⁠British Prime ​Minister Keir Starmer ​has named ‌former ⁠Prime Minister Gordon ⁠Brown as ​his special envoy on global finance, ​a ‌statement on Saturday from Starmer's ​office said.

"The PM ‌has committed to boosting ‌the country’s security and resilience. In this ​role, Gordon Brown ‌will advise on how global finance ⁠cooperation ⁠can help ‌to achieve this," ​the ​statement said. (Reporting ‌by Sarah Young; Editing by Toby Chopra)
