IN BRIEF: Synectics names AdEPT director Wilson as chair designate

Synectics PLC - Sheffield, England-based security systems company - Names Craig Wilson as chair designate and a non-executive director with immediate effect. Says he will become non-executive chair after a planned transition and handover period of about three months. In June, David Coghlan said he will step down as chair by the end of this year after 16 years in the role to a "less direct role".

Wilson is currently the non-executive director of London-based information technology provider AdEPT Technology Group PLC and chair of Kao Data Ltd. He also served as chief executive of software & business process services company Xchanging PLC. Previously, Wilson served in leadership roles for information technology firms Hewlett-Packard Enterprise Co and Electronic Data Systems.

Outgoing Chair Coghlan says: "[Wilson] has deep leadership experience of enterprise software and wider technology businesses, large and small, that is highly relevant to Synectics' growth opportunities."
