IN BRIEF: Rothermere plans compulsory purchase of rest of Daily Mail

Daily Mail & General Trust PLC - London-based newspaper publisher, including Daily Mail, Metro and i - Rothermere Continuation Ltd says Friday it owns or has acceptances for its takeover offer for 97.7% of DMGT shares. With more than 90% acceptances, Rothermere now intends to pursue compulsory acquisition of the remaining shares, which will be on the same terms as is final takeover offer. Rothermere Continuation is the vehicle of DMGT's biggest shareholder Jonathan Harmsworth, Viscount Rothermere.
