Playtech PLC - Isle of Man-based gambling software development company - Reports "very strong" online performance continues for half-year period ended June 30. Trading is in line with company expectations, boosted by retail in Italy beginning to reopen from mid-June.
Playtech notes a very strong performance from business-to-business online, particularly Caliente and Snaitech's online business. Trading in Asia is stable through the first half, in line with the levels achieved in the second half of 2020. Significant progress against strategic and operational objectives is being made, Playtech notes, including in its US, Latin American and European markets.
"Whilst the Covid-19 pandemic continues to pose challenges and the macroeconomic outlook remains uncertain with the possibility of further unexpected lockdowns, given the strong first half performance and the momentum within the business, the board is confident of the company's prospects for the remainder of 2021 and beyond," Playtech says.
Playtech will announce its interim results on September 23.
