Thu, 19th Mar 2026 11:24

Elementis PLC - London-based chemical manufacturer - Promotes Non-Executive Senior Independent Director Trudy Schoolenberg as non-executive chair, succeeding John O'Higgins, with effect from the end of its annual general meeting on April 29. Schoolenberg assumed her current role in April, 2022, and is currently chair of Accsys Technologies PLC. "She has around 35 years' experience in the chemicals, engineering and high‑performance product sectors," Elementis notes. Elementis also appoints Non-Executive Director Christine Soden as interim senior independent director, and Mike Humphrey as an independent non-executive director, effective from April 29. Notes that Humphrey was chief executive of Croda International PLC from 1999 to 2011, and says he "[played] a crucial role in reshaping its strategic focus on specialty markets."

"I would like to congratulate Trudy on her appointment as chair," comments Elementis CEO Luc van Ravenstein. "Her broad international experience, deep knowledge of the industry and respected position within Elementis make her the right leader at this important juncture for the business. I am also very pleased to welcome Mike, whose expertise will bring additional strength and depth to the board."
