Harworth Sells 16-Acre Nottinghamshire Plot To Barratt David Wilson

Thu, 26th Nov 2020 07:38

(Alliance News) - Yorkshire-based Harworth Group PLC on Wednesday said it had sold a 16-acre plot of land on its Thoresby Vale development in Nottinghamshire to Barratt David Wilson Homes for a price in line with its December 2019 book value.

David Wilson Homes, which is based in Coalville, Leicestershire, purchased the land from the residential development company that specialises in regenerating large complex sites to build 219 new homes.

Current proposals include building a range of house types, such as one-bed apartments to four-bed family detached homes, while also providing a children's play area, footpath links and a link road for Thoresby Vale's new primary school, which is due for completion in September 2023.

Chief Executive Lynda Shillaw said: "David Wilson Homes will represent the 17th housebuilder we have sold residential land to in the past seven years, clearly reflecting that our sites endure in their popularity due to the quality of our serviced land and our commitment to effective placemaking.

"Our sites offer what homeowners want from the places where they live. Covid-19 has shone a light on the importance of people's local environment, and in particular their access to outdoor space, community and wider connectivity - factors that are at the centre of our masterplans for the places that we develop," she said.

Shares in Harworth Group closed up 0.5% at 105.00 pence in London on Wednesday.
