European gas prices extend falls on potential US-Iran deal

LONDON, May 6 (Reuters) - ​European ⁠wholesale gas ​prices extended falls on Wednesday ​on ‌a potential U.S-Iran peace ⁠deal.

The benchmark Dutch ⁠front-month contract ​at the TTF hub TFMBMc1 was down 6.5% at ​43.88 ‌euros per megawatt hour (MWh), or around $15.13/mmBtu, as of 0907 GMT, ​ICE data showed. The White ‌House believes it is getting close ‌to an agreement with Iran on a one-page memorandum ​of understanding to end the war ‌and set a framework for more detailed nuclear ⁠negotiations, Axios ⁠reported on ‌Wednesday, citing two U.S. officials ​and ​two other sources ‌briefed on the issue.
