LONDON, May 6 (Reuters) - European wholesale gas prices extended falls on Wednesday on a potential U.S-Iran peace deal.
The benchmark Dutch front-month contract at the TTF hub TFMBMc1 was down 6.5% at 43.88 euros per megawatt hour (MWh), or around $15.13/mmBtu, as of 0907 GMT, ICE data showed. The White House believes it is getting close to an agreement with Iran on a one-page memorandum of understanding to end the war and set a framework for more detailed nuclear negotiations, Axios reported on Wednesday, citing two U.S. officials and two other sources briefed on the issue.
