Concurrent Technologies targets expansion with Helios system launch

Wed, 05th Oct 2022 12:08

(Alliance News) - Concurrent Technologies PLC on Wednesday said the launch of Helios, its new off-the-shelf ruggedised computer system, could help to significantly expand the company's addressable market.

Concurrent Technologies is an Essex, England-based designer and manufacturer of computer boards. Its strategy thus far has been to expand into systems that utilise its own processor plug-in cards augmented with best-in-class PICs from supplementary manufacturers.

Highly rugged and small form factor products like Helios are targeted at a section of the defence systems market estimated to be worth USD105.0 million in 2020, growing at 18% per annum.

Concurrent said Helios has the flexibility to meet a number of customer applications, including command and control display, degraded vision enhancement, and 360-degree vehicle situational awareness.

Chief Executive Officer Miles Adcock called the launch of Helios a "milestone achievement".

"Expanding our capabilities to meet the growing demand of the Systems market has been a part of our stated strategy, and we expect to make further announcements as we continue to enhance our portfolio and capabilities in this field," he added.

Concurrent shares were trading 7.5% higher at 77.90 pence each in London on Wednesday afternoon.
