(Alliance News) - Gold miner Centamin PLC on Monday said it has no recorded cases of Covid-19 at its Sukari gold mine in Egypt and has experienced no material disruption to operations, supply chain or gold shipments.
The miner also said it has committed around USD635,000 to support Egypt's response efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
"As the country's largest mining company, and significant local employer, early action was taken to protect the on-site workforce and secure operations. We continue to closely monitor the situation, adapting our processes and procedures accordingly," it said.
Centamin shares were up 1.9% at 126.35 pence each on Monday morning.
