BT Hires Unilever People Chief Leena Nair As Non-Executive Director

(Alliance News) - BT Group PLC said Friday it has hired Unilever PLC executive Leena Nair as a non-executive director at the FTSE 100-listed telecommunications firm.

Nair will join BT from July 10, when she will also join the remuneration, nominations and digital impact & sustainability committees.

Since 2016, Nair has served as chief human resources officer at FTSE 100-listed consumer goods firm Unilever following a number of other senior HR roles at the firm after having joined in 1992.

"We are delighted to welcome Leena to BT," BT Chair Jan du Plessis said.

"She brings a deep understanding of the strategic and practical challenges of driving large scale cultural transformation, making her an excellent addition to the board."

Shares in BT were 1.4% lower at 196.06 pence in London on Friday.
