Boku Signs Mobile Identity Verification Pact With Telecoms Firm

Tue, 05th Nov 2019 11:33

(Alliance News) - Mobile payments firm Boku Inc said Tuesday it has entered a partnership with an unnamed mobile telecommunications group for the provision of mobile identity verification capabilities.

Under the partnership, Boku will integrate with the group's global hub, allowing any of its mobile network operators worldwide to connect with Boku's Identity platform through a single connection.

The provision of mobile identity verification will allow the partner's mobile subscribers to process silent and frictionless verification and authentication processes across all mobile interactions with Boku's merchant portfolio.

"Consumers are constantly looking for easier frictionless ways to interact on mobile. This agreement will see us continue to build on our strong relationship with this partner, enabling their operators to seamlessly integrate identity verification," said Stuart Neal, chief business officer of Boku Identity.

"This is another endorsement of Boku's strategy to touch every mobile interaction and whilst progress on Identity has been slower than we initially would have liked, this agreement is yet another indicator of the exciting opportunity ahead of us," Neal added.

Shares in Boku - which is headquartered in San Francisco, California - were up 0.1% at 100.57 pence in London on Tuesday.
