Bango posts widened annual loss; notes positive start to 2026 trading

Mon, 27th Apr 2026 11:56

(Alliance News) - Bango PLC on Monday said 2026 trading has "started well", as it posted a wider loss for 2025 amid increased costs.

The Cambridge, England-based digital payments firm reported a pretax loss of USD7.7 million for 2025, widened from USD3.5 million in 2024.

Revenue fell 1.6% to USD52.2 million from USD53.0 million, as Payments segment revenue decreased 15% to USD30.0 million from USD35.2 million. Meanwhile, Subscriptions segment revenue grew 22% to USD22.2million from USD18.2 million.

However, driving the widened loss were increased administration expenses, which rose 9.2% to USD51.0 million from USD46.7 million.

Bango also reported a 51% decline in other operating income to USD1.1 million from USD2.2 million, and finance costs more than doubled to USD2.0 million from USD842,000.

On current trading, the company said 2026 has "started well", as it noted new customer wins and expansion from existing customers. It noted that revenue in the first quarter of 2026 grew 13% on-year, while adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation advanced 39%.

Shares in the company were down 7.4% at 71.80 pence on Monday morning in London.

"2025 marked a pivotal year for Bango as we delivered strong growth in recurring revenue and reached a key financial inflection point with positive cash Ebitda," said Chief Executive Paul Larbey.

"With a strong pipeline, increasing revenue visibility and the operational efficiencies delivered during 2025 now embedded, Bango enters 2026 with good momentum. While we remain mindful of macroeconomic uncertainty affecting the timing of some opportunities, demand for bundling remains strong. With a continued focus on long-term shareholder value, we are well positioned to accelerate profitable growth and cash generation as we scale the DVM and execute on our strategy."
