Atlantic Lithium to begin trading on Ghana Stock Exchange next week

Fri, 10th May 2024 14:26

(Alliance News) - Atlantic Lithium Ltd on Friday said it will begin trading on the Main Market of the Ghana Stock Exchange on Monday next week.

The lithium development company, currently focused on developing the Ewoyaa project on the Ghanaian coast, said admission of its entire issued share capital of 649.7 million shares and trading will begin at 1000 GMT.

It said the listing and admission in Ghana will have no effect on its existing listings on the Australian Securities Exchange or the London Stock Exchange's AIM, while no new shares are connected with the GSE listing.

"Recognising the strategic and socio-economic importance of the Ewoyaa lithium project to Ghana, we are delighted to be listing the company's shares on the Ghana Stock Exchange, which we believe will provide Ghanaians greater opportunity to share ownership in and contribute to the advancement of the project towards production," said Executive Chair Neil Herbert.

"During what is set to be a milestone year for Atlantic Lithium, we are grateful for the considerable support we have received from the Minerals Income Investment Fund, the Minerals Commission, Ghana's Securities and Exchange Commission and the GSE to enable the company's admission. We look forward to commencing our journey on the GSE alongside the prospective Ghanaian investors that we hope to welcome through our admission. This represents an important new chapter for Atlantic Lithium in Ghana as we look to achieve long-term lithium production to support the country's critical mineral objectives."

On Thursday last week, Atlantic Lithium received backing from Ghana Stock Exchange's listing committee, as well as the nation's Securities & Exchange Commission, for a GSE admission.

Shares in Atlantic Lithium were down 0.1% to 21.77 pence each in London on Friday afternoon.
