Anglo American expects final approval for Teck Resources merger between September and March

Wed, 18th Mar 2026 19:22

SAO PAULO, March 18 (Reuters) - London-listed mining company Anglo ‌American expects to get final regulatory approval for its merger with Teck Resources between September this year and March 2027, a spokesperson said ‌on Wednesday.

The company clarified its expectations for approval from China and South Korea after earlier comments from an ‌executive at an event in Brazil's Sao Paulo, ‌who said that final approvals were expected around the third quarter of 2026.

"Nothing has changed on ‌this front and (CEO) Duncan Wanblad's comments from a few weeks ago stand - we expect approvals within ‌the originally anticipated timeline, meaning between September 2026 and March ‌2027," the spokesperson said in an email.
