AA And Trakm8 Reveal Deal To Extend Relationship

Mon, 14th Dec 2015 07:38

LONDON (Alliance News) - Roadside assistance company AA PLC and telematics car data provider Trakm8 Holdings PLC on Monday said they have extended their existing relationship.

Trakm8 has supplied telematic systems to the AA for its roadside assistance and recovery vehicles for more than four years.

The telematics company has now worked with the roadside assistance company to develop a new business-to-business fleet management system, the AA and Trakm8 said.

The new product will be offered to the AA's business-to-business fleet customers, enabling them to help manage both the cost and logistics of running their fleets. The system allows individual vehicle data to be tracked, including fuel consumption, driver behaviour and routes taken.

"This initiative for our fleet customers is an important part of the investment in connected car technology that we are developing. We are looking at a number of options that will add value to our proposition for the rest of our business customers and our personal members," Kirsty Lloyd-Jukes, the AA's strategy director, said.

"This is a substantial contract and an extremely interesting opportunity for Trakm8. Working with the AA on this project, we will substantially increase our understanding of remote vehicle service potential for fleets," Trakm8 Executive Chairman John Watkins said.
