(Alliance News) - Zephyr Energy PLC on Wednesday said operations at its 36-2 well will start in the coming weeks, following delays.
London-based Zephyr said that it has finalised its planning for the completion and production testing of State 36-2 well following a fracture to its reservoir interval.
Operations are expected to start in the next two weeks and anticipated to take four to six weeks to complete, the oil and gas exploration and production company said.
The well is located at the company's flagship project in the Paradox Basin in Utah, US, and is part of the Paradox project.
This comes after State 36-2 well experienced a fracture, causing an influx of hydrocarbons in the well bore, back in January.
Meanwhile, the first phase of the extended production testing on State 16-2 well, which is also part of the Paradox project, has concluded, and the company plans to further test the well to gather more data.
State 16-2 well had been obstructed by severe weather and facility commissioning issues, which resulted in delays to operational activity.
Chief Executive Colin Harrington said: "We're excited to production test the State 36-2 well, an operation which will commence shortly and which (due to the fact we're testing a natural fracture) is anticipated to take significantly less time than the State 16-2 well production test, which is still in the late flow back phase to clean up all injected completion fluids."
"We look forward to updating investors on the results from the State 36-2 production test and once the results from the test are analysed, we expect to be in a position to announce our plans for future drilling and infrastructure plans on the Paradox project."
Zephyr Energy shares closed down 5.6% at 5.05 pence in London on Wednesday.
