Walker Crips Group PLC - stockbroker - For the year to the end of March, pretax profit rose by 97% to GBP963,000 from GBP489,000 the year before, on revenue that grew by 3% to GBP31.5 million from GBP30.5 million, bolstered by a rise in non-broking income. Profit rise was on recovery of longstanding disputed insurance claim of GBP209,000 and reassessment of deferred cash consideration due on acquired client relations of GBP166,000. As at March 31, assets under management down 15% at GBP2.8 billion from GBP3.3 billion the same date the prior year. Declared no final dividend for year, leaving total payout at 0.60p pence per share, down from 0.91p the year before.
