(Alliance News) - Alien Metals Ltd on Friday said it has completed a follow-up detailed geological mapping and sampling programme at its Hamersley iron ore projects in Australia.
The precious and base metals explorer stated the mapping and sampling programme was completed over four of the five priority prospects targeted as part of the site visit, adding that additional prospective iron ore units were mapped at the Brockman iron project.
Alien Metals said 95 samples were taken across the projects, with assay results expected in late October. Final results from sample assays and detailed mapping will assist with the preparation of maiden drilling campaign.
"The findings from the recently completed field programme are extremely pleasing and further validate the company's exploration targets. The company's technical team is compiling and finalising the geological mapping across the Hamersley projects which will give us valuable information ahead of maiden drilling programmes. We are already considering the follow up program to cover the 5th target not reached yet which in itself still has great potential," said Chief Executive Bill Good.
Shares in Alien Metals were trading 5.9% higher at 0.70 pence each on Friday morning in London.
