Director dealings: Tristel non-exec buys first shares, LSE buyback continues

Mon, 26th Jun 2023 11:07

(Sharecast News) - On the list of director buys on Monday was Tristel, after a non-executive director spent almost £30k on shares.

The infection prevention products manufacturer said that on 23 June, Tom Jenkins purchased 8,000 of its shares in a single transaction on the London Stock Exchange.

Jenkins paid 372p for each share, valuing the investment at a total of £29,760.

In its disclosure, Tristel said Jenkins' beneficial interest in the company now stood at 8,000 of its shares, representing 0.02% of its total issued share capital.

London Stock Exchange Group was once again representing the selling side of the ledger, as the buyback programme launched in the wake of its acquisition of Refinitiv rolled on.

The company said York Holdings II sold back another 12,071 of its shares, in a single transaction that also took place on 23 June.

It received 8,401.94p for each share, valuing the transaction at £1,014,198.18.

The exchange operator said in its disclosure that one of its directors, Martin Brand, is also a director of York Holdings II.

It is understood that York Holdings II is part of the structure of entities that holds the LSE Group shares that formed part of the consideration paid to Thomson Reuters and Blackstone on completion of its acquisition of Refinitiv.

A number of those shares exited lock-in restrictions earlier this year, leading to a share buyback agreement between LSE Group and the vendors of Refinitiv.

At 1439 BST, shares in London Stock Exchange Group were down 0.07% at 8,416p, while those in Tristel were 3.99% weaker at 364.84p.
