AIM WINNERS & LOSERS: TomCo's Utah boost; Itaconix revenue falls

AIM - WINNERS

TomCo Energy PLC, up 9.0% at 0.57 pence, 12-month range 0.38p-1.11p. TomCo's Greenfield Energy LLC joint-venture, which it holds a 50% stake in, receives a final front-end engineering and design study for a Utah project. TomCo, a developer focused on using new technology to unlock unconventional hydrocarbon resources, is "delighted" the FEED study has been received.

AIM - LOSERS

Itaconix, down 26% at 8.06p, 12-month range 1.22p-17.50p. The specialty polymers firm says first half revenue rises 26% yearly to USD1.4 million. However, it represents a sequential 36% drop from second half of 2020. The London-based firm notes interim revenue was in line with management expectations. Shares hit a three-month low on Tuesday.

Metals Exploration, down 18% at 1.44p, 12-month range 0.85p-3.40p. The exploration and development firm, operating the Runruno gold mine in Philippines, says sales fell in the second quarter of 2021. Sales totalled USD29.7 million, down 9.5% quarter-on-quarter from USD32.8 million. Sales volumes fell to 16,429 ounces of gold from 18,316 ounces in the first quarter. Philippines suffered a "surge" in virus cases during the quarter, Metals notes.

Sylvania Platinum Ltd, down 14% at 99.40p, 12-month range 41.82p-150.00p. In fourth quarter to June 30, output falls 6.5% quarter-on-quarter to 16,289 4E PGM ounces, from 17,420 ounces in the third quarter. 4E PGM refers to platinum, palladium, rhodium and gold. The South Africa-focused platinum group metals producer posts USD48.4 million in quarterly revenue, down more than a third from USD74.2 million in third quarter.
