Turnaround investment company Volvere traded at its highest in over a year today after posting a profit of £509,000 in 2008 versus a loss of £364,000 a year earlier.Revenue jumped to £7.3m from £3.8m in 2007, helped by last September's £1.3m acquisition of Interactive Prospect Targeting.Gulf of Mexico-focused Leed Petroleum, which received a letter of interest Friday, has been unable to contact the potential bidder, so has no idea if, or when, an offer may be made.It said last week that a rival listed on the New York Stock Exchange was interested in buying a stake "on the preliminary basis of a range of $0.25 to $0.38 per share." In a separate statement, it said it has been awarded the Eugene Island 133 and Ship Shoal 197 leases after bids of $350,567 and $575,456 were accepted last week.Customvis, the maker of lasers for corrective eye surgery, says a request for a general meeting by rebel investor Simon Gordon has been incorrectly filed.Gordon, along with Mukesh Jain, who resigned as chief operating officer and marketing director last September, and former chairman William Colvin, want to remove current chairman Simon Carroll and boss Paul van Saarloos.Gordon, Hugh Grant and Christopher Bell would become directors of the company. A valid request is expected to be submitted shortly.Investment company MG Capital has written to shareholders to propose cancelling its AIM listing.Tenon Financial Services has formed a partnership with US firm SEI to provide end-to-end wealth processing via a single, integrated system.Molecular diagnostics company Osmetech has been chosen as the principal supplier of Warfarin Sensitivity tests in a clinical trial sponsored by the US National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI).Osmetech's Warfarin Sensitivity Tests and eSensor XT-8 molecular diagnostics instrument platform for ten of the twelve sites identified to run the trial, which will run for up to six months. Miniweb, the company which provides Internet style interactivity via the TV, is to integrate blinkx technology into its online services platform.The inclusion of video search engine specialist blinkx's technology will enable users to search and discover broadcast television and internet video from multiple sources on blinkx's index of 35 million hours of video content using Miniweb-enabled, broadband-connected devices.Shares in Roxi Petroleum rose after the oil explorer and developer announced the successful test of two wells in Kazakhstan.Shares in communications firm SpiriTel fell after it said results for the year ended 30 April 2009 is expected to be marginally below expectations. Microcap revealed that it is in negotiations with certain parties with respect to an equity investment after its shares surged. Energy firm Kedco on the other hand said it knew of no reason behind its share price surge yesterday. But it did say it was recently informed by one of its potential partners that requisite planning approval had been received in respect of the installation of gasification technology on the relevant site. "This planning permission is in respect of one of Kedco's most advanced projects; however shareholders should note that the Company is still in the process of negotiating commercial terms with the potential partner. The Company will make a further announcement when these reach a conclusion," it said.
