HOUSTON, Sept 22 (Reuters) - Motiva Enterprises shut a gas oil hydrotreater at its 600,000 barrel per day (bpd)Port Arthur, Texas refinery on Monday at the start of a planned30-day overhaul of the unit, said sources familiar withoperations at the largest U.S. refinery.
The hydrotreater uses hydrogen to move sulfur dioxide fromgasoline feedstocks in compliance with U.S. environmentalregulations.
Motiva is a 50-50 joint venture between Royal Dutch ShellPlc and Saudi Aramco. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by David Gregorio)
