(Alliance News) - Petropavlovsk PLC said Monday it has appointed Mirzaaziz Musakhanov as non-executive director with immediate effect.
He was nominated as a director by Aeon Mining Ltd which is the largest shareholder in the Russian gold producer with a 22% interest.
Musakhanov is currently chair at Russian regional airport operator Novaport Group, and is also a director at diversified miner GeoProMining Group.
"As Chair, it gives me great pleasure to welcome Musakhanov to the board as a representative of our largest shareholder. His extensive and diverse business experience will make a significant contribution to the future of our company. The successful implementation of Petropavlovsk's pressure oxidation project has opened new opportunities to create value for all of our shareholders," said Non-Executive Chair Roderic Lyne.
Shares in Petropavlovsk were up 1.3% at 9.80 pence on Monday in London.
